YOUTH MINISTRY NOTES From Greg Reiff, Director for Youth & Family
We truly have a talented COR youth group who are involved in many different activities and events
in our community. A fun holiday activity that our youth recently participated in was in the making of
Christmas packages and stockings to be given out to our homeless men and women who came to COR
on the week of December 9 – 16th. Additionally, the stocking packages were also carried in the vehicles
of Angels Care traveling nurses and were handed out to our homeless citizens that the nurses encountered
over the Christmas season. We had seven boys and two girls show up to help make the packages over the weekend of Saturday, December 1st. We set up an assembly line for all participants so that each youth put their item in the stocking and passed it on to the next youth member who did the same. This was done until all
stockings were full and completed. Each Christmas stocking included the following items: shower less
shampoo, deodorant, baby wipes, tooth brush and tooth paste, hand warmers, gloves, snacks of various
kinds and a knitted scarf in each package. Additionally, each youth member wrote a Bible verse and card and included this in each stocking. This could not have happened without the support of Peg Otten and Elaine Sperl and Angels Care Nursing. We are so grateful for their assistance. Happy New Year!
