When we regard our money, rather than our faith in Christ as the basis for our security, we give higher status to an earthly resource rather than God. Personally, I believe it applies to everything we have been given. Our time, our money, our gifts, our blessings: all comes from God. One of the things that helped me keep focused
on this issue was, that I came into this world with nothing and that is how I will leave it. For God, tithing and offerings are not about a percentage. It has more to do with one’s heart during the act of giving. We are all stewards. A steward is one who manages the affairs and resources of someone else. We are all stewards of
the resources that God has put in our hands. We are accountable to God alone in terms of our stewardship.
Some of you have heard me say that COR is entirely resourced by our congregation. We do not receive money or resources from any other entity. Anything we receive comes from all of us, the congregation. At the present time we are very significantly behind on what we anticipated for annual revenue. We need your help. If you do not have a plan for tithing or offering, we ask you to prayerfully consider it.

 2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV:
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
