Sunday, October 19th
Sunday, October 19th at 9:00 & 10:45 Worship Services
Celebration Luncheon at 12:00 noon in the Fellowship Hall
Each year we dedicate our “Estimates of Giving” for the new year as an act of consecration of our stewardship in thanksgiving to the Lord. Pastor Bob will be preaching an inspiring and encouraging message entitled “Money: The Currency of Christian Hedonism” as a part of our current Desiring God series and our Neighborhood Groups will gather during the week to discuss these concepts of stewardship.
At COR our stewardship philosophy is to teach the dynamic biblical principles of money management and then seek to order our lives and finances as to be obedient to God. God is the Owner; we are the managers. He calls us to be wise, generous stewards of the resources He has entrusted to us. We give out of hearts filled with gratitude for His lavish grace and generous provision (Philippians 4:19). We do not raise a budget. Instead, we seek to be obedient and trust the Lord for His provision.
He has always been faithful. He is the Source of all of our wealth and we seek to honor Him by our allocation of His resources for the building of His kingdom.
Several informative mailings from the church will help us prepare for Consecration Sunday. We hope everyone will plan on being in attendance in worship and consecrating their “Estimate of Giving” as an act of worship. Also, we hope everyone will join together for the Celebration Luncheon at 12:00 noon in the Fellowship Hall. Response/RSVP cards will be provided for your use in letting us know of your intended participation.
We always grow in our faith through Consecration Sunday. God calls us to a deeper commitment. Responding with faithful stewardship enriches our lives. We need to give more than the church needs to receive. Together, let’s discover anew the Joy of Giving ( 2 Corinthians 9:7).
